This is the third time that Norðanátt stands for a business accelerator for entrepreneurs working on green projects in North Iceland. The startup storm began on October 4 and participants have spent the past seven weeks receiving education, attending workshops and making connections with experienced industry players at so-called mentoring meetings.

The final event was held with pomp and ceremony on Thursday the 16th of November at the Icelandic Aviation Museum. The innovation teams stepped up and presented their projects to a full auditorium of invited guests, with around 80 people attending the event and listening to their dynamic presentations.

Won half a million

The final event also featured a varied program. Vilhjálmur Bergmann Bragason, actor and poet of trouble was the host of the evening, and Albertína Fr. , Ottó Elíasson and Katrín Guðjónsdóttir participated in the panel discussion on innovation in North Iceland. Sigurjón and Ragnheiður from the angel investment company Nordic Ignite taught guests about angel investments and from KLAK Magnús and Jenna came and presented the Golden Egg, Iceland's largest innovation competition.

The jury and guests in the auditorium got to vote on the best project and the project 3D solutions was the winner. Jón Þór Sigurðsson and Arnar Hansen, the supporters of the project, received ISK 500,000 - which will hopefully be useful for continued development.

Norðanátt Congratulations to all the teams involved and continued success.

Norðanátt builds on a cycle of innovation where entrepreneurs have the opportunity to develop their ideas, grow and reach further. The circuit consists of the idea competition Norðansprotinn, the business accelerator Startup Stormi Vaxtarrými and an investor festival held in Siglufjörður in the spring. That Norðanátt stand Eimur, the national associations SSNE and SSNV. Sponsor Norðanáttar is the Ministry of Environment, Energy, and Climate.
